Mobile broadband set to dominate in MEA region Monday, July 27, 2009
Almost 70% of the broadband subscribers in the Middle East and Africa will use wireless networks by 2011, up from about 38% today, according to a report from Dubai based consultants Delta Partners.
While the Middle East and Africa has been the world’s fastest growing region in terms of mobile penetration growth in recent years, fixed penetration has stagnated at 20% in the Middle East and 4% in Africa, leading to a huge pent-up demand for broadband services.
